Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that challenges traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of prohibited practices and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The plot introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret sect.
The questline focuses on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an unique katana together with numerous items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's third free story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic techniques: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
